The Arc Westchester Day!
The Arc Westchester is excited to announce that October 20th was officially declared The Arc Westchester Day in Westchester County! County Executive George Latimer participated brief ceremony on October 20th at the Westchester County Office Building in White Plains, making the day official throughout the entire county. This commemorative day was also showcased on the Westchester County Center’s digital display boards.
This proclamation designating this special day is in recognition of The Arc Westchester’s efforts during the COVID-19 Pandemic , noting the vital work of our 850 staff, many of whom are now assuming the role of frontline healthcare workers. “A global pandemic has challenged them to change the way they deliver services, holding true to their core values while keeping health and safety at the forefront. Westchester County is innovative –and this organization exemplifies that” said George Latimer, Westchester County Executive.
October 20, would have been our largest fundraiser A Matter of Taste. But, as so many have done, we have pivoted to focus on what matters most –the safety of our community. Through the efforts of The Arc Westchester Foundation, and the incredible generosity of our donors, the foundation is close to their goal in raising funds to support our community through a special appeal, the A Matter of Safety campaign.
