As we enter the month of May we recognize and applaud two professional groups in our workforce this month with Nurses Recognition Week May 6 through May 12, and Teacher Appreciation Week May 8 through May 12.
Our nurses continue to be the front line of care for the people we support, and our teachers shape the future for each child in their classroom and provide ongoing support to their families. We all wish to extend our sincere gratitude to the 23 nurse on our staff and all the nurses in our healthcare system who have touched so many lives. We are extremely fortunate to have such a special group of essential professionals as a part of our organization, who make such a profound difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities.
The teachers, teaching assistants and teaching aides are vital in providing early education services at our Children’s School for Early Development. In honor of this important week of recognition, we extend our sincere gratitude to all the teachers on our staff and would like to thank teachers throughout our country. Their continued unwavering support and love for their students have ensured that The Arc Westchester can continue its’ mission and values that support children, teens, and adults with Developmental Disabilities. Our Children’s School knows that early diagnosis, treatment, and education can change the life of a child and put them on a path to success. We are extremely fortunate to have teaching and support staff among our workforce who make so many children and their families smile every day.
