Our First Annual Spring Family Forum Welcomes Large Crowd

On Saturday, March 9, the first ever Spring Family Forum took place at our headquarters in Hawthorne. Evolved from Family Resource Day, the event provided parents, guardians and individuals alike the chance to have an intimate conversation with member of The Arc Westchester leadership. More than 65 family members and individuals attended the event. This annual event is one venue we hold during the month that recognizes March, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

The day began with Introductions by Tibi Guzman, executive director and CEO, who discussed The Arc Westchester’s 5 Year Strategic Plan, Core Values initiatives, and gave an update on the bFair2DirectCare campaign. Tibi was followed by remarks from Kerry Delaney, CEO of Partners Health Plan, former acting Commissioner of OPWDD, who shared latest updated on Managed Care.

Several breakout roundtable sessions followed covering various supports offered by the organization, including recreation and respite services, residential, volunteering, internships and employment, UNC TEACCH tecniques for home and and e-cafe with technology that can assist with everyday tasks..

Thank you to all of the attendees for making our first Spring Family Forum a great success. Check out photos from the day below!
