As we observe Direct Support Professionals Week, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible individuals who are the heart of The Arc Westchester. Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) make a profound impact on the lives of those we support every single day.
DSPs go above and beyond by deeply understanding the unique interests and passions of the individuals in their care. They play a crucial role in empowering people with developmental disabilities to achieve greater independence and lead fulfilling lives.
Their dedication and professionalism reflect their unwavering commitment to our mission, vision, and values. Through their tireless efforts, DSPs not only provide essential support but also strengthen our entire community.
At The Arc Westchester, we are dedicated to helping people live meaningful lives and become active, contributing members of their communities. Our DSPs are vital to making this vision a reality. They are the driving force behind our organization, and our mission could not be achieved without their exceptional work.
This Direct Support Professionals Week, let us honor and celebrate these extraordinary individuals for their year-round dedication and incredible contributions. They are truly the heart and soul of our organization, and we are profoundly grateful for everything they do
To show our gratitude and appreciation for our Direct Support Professionals, we’re excited to distribute $50 Target gift cards and healthy snacks, all packaged in a special Arc Westchester reusable tote. These gifts, generously provided by The Arc Westchester Foundation, are a small token of our thanks for the hard work and dedication of our DSPs. During this special week, our leadership team will visit various residences and day service sites to personally express their thanks and acknowledge the invaluable support our DSPs provide year-round.

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) have always been at the heart of The Arc Westchester. It is only because of them that our mission of supporting individuals with Developmental Disabilities throughout the arc of their lifetime is possible. These everyday frontline heroes work throughout Westchester County, ensuring that our 2,000+ individuals live fulfilling and independent lives.
DSPs play an important role in strengthening our community and fulfilling our mission. DSPs work hands-on with the individuals who live in our agency residences and/or receive services at our various Day Habilitation sites. They serve as the day-to-day advocate and support staff for them. DSP’s provide our individuals with: training, guidance, direction, assistance, and general support in all facets of their life. Along with providing Person Centered activities, DSPs constantly search for ongoing opportunities for personal choice, integration and independence within an individual’s home and in their community.
