Construction Kick-Off for The Ann Manzi Center

The Arc Westchester recently marked a significant milestone with a “Construction Kick-Off” event at the Ann Manzi Center in Mount Kisco on June 20th. This event signals the beginning Phase II of a major renovation and improvement project aimed at enhancing the facilities of our large Day Service location.

Phase II of the project, generously supported by the benefactors of the Arc Westchester Foundation, the Manzi family, and the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, follows the successful completion of earlier renovations to the interior of the building during Phase I. The occasion included J. Michael Cindrich, Mayor of Mount Kisco; Karen Schlemier, Mount Kisco Trustee; and Erika Pierce, Westchester County Legislator. Also present were board members, staff from The Arc Westchester and The Arc Westchester Foundation, as well as the project architect and members of Murphy Brothers Contracting.

The improvements planned for the Ann Manzi Center are extensive and designed to benefit program participants, especially the aging population. Key enhancements include the creation of an accessible nature walking trail to promote holistic wellness, expanded parking facilities, upgraded security and lighting, a renovated entryway and awning, ADA compliant bathroom upgrades, and other functional and aesthetic improvements.

Looking ahead, The Arc Westchester Foundation remains committed to securing additional funding to support similar capital improvements across their various facilities, encompassing day services sites, residences, the clinic, and the preschool.

Overall, the Phase II kick-off event not only symbolizes progress in construction but also underscores The Arc Westchester’s ongoing dedication to enhancing the quality of life for its participants and the broader community.
