ABA PROGRAM/PRESCHOOL COORDINATOR

Responsibilities:

  • The ABA Program/Preschool Coordinator at The Children’s School for Early Development is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of our specialized preschool program for children on the autism spectrum.
  • Overall responsibilities associated with this position include the direct support and consultation with the educational and clinical staff, developmental and behavioral support of students, and maintaining best practices in keeping with a VB/ABA based framework.

Requirements:

  • Requires Master’s degree in Special Education or related field and direct experience working in an educational setting with young children with developmental disabilities, specifically preschoolers with autism spectrum disorder.
  • NYS Certification for Special Education Teacher and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) are required.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (specifically that of Verbal Behavior), Positive Behavior Support, Behavior Management and Functional Behavioral Assessments.

     

Pay/Salary:

  • $28.45-37.56/hr

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

Description:

  • The Arc Westchester’s Children’s School For Early Development has several collaborative inclusion classes located in community early childhood settings for preschool students with a disability.  We are seeking a certified special education teacher, experienced working with young children with developmental delays and disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • In addition to classroom management, curriculum development and lesson planning to design activities that meet the IEP goals for students, this position requires communication with parents, school districts and other professional clinicians, working on a collaborative team.

Requirements:

  • Requires Graduation from College or University with a Master’s Degree in Special Education and at least two years of experience.

REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN

Responsibilities:

  • Provide meaningful instruction to program participants in assigned Day Habilitation Programs.
  • Develop and implement community based/in-house programming in accordance with program participants needs, preferences, and desires as per their Life Plan.
  • Act as the liaison for the Behavior Specialist assigned to the program. Under the supervision of a qualified Behavior Specialist (i.e. BCBA or LBA) assist with the completion of functional behavioral assessments and the development of person-centered behavioral support plans in assigned programs.
  • Assist the Behavior Specialist with summarizing behavioral data, training employees in the areas of applied behavior analysis, and implementation of The Arc Westchester’s strategic initiatives as they relate to behavioral services.
  • Provide all services in accordance with relevant regulations.

Requirements:

  • Requires a High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license required.
  • This position is an entry level position for the department.
  • One (1) year experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of applied behavior analysis and basic computer skills including Word and Excel required.

RESIDENTIAL BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN

Description:

  • The Residential Behavior Technician implements behavior-analytic services to the people supported under the close supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) as well as providing direct support services to the people supported in the program.

Responsibilities:

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST

Responsibilities:

  • Provides diagnostic, evaluative and therapeutic services for a broad spectrum of speech disorders for children with developmental disabilities.
  • Participates in completing and updating the Comprehensive Functional Assessment.
  • Provide in service training to staff as needed/requested and or assigned.

 

Requirements: 

  • Must have considerable knowledge of OPWDD regulations.
  • Professional- Graduation from an accredited College or University with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Licensed and currently registered as a speech Pathologist by New York State Department of Education as a person eligible for licensure by virtue of holding a certificate of clinical competence.
  • Must have car and NYS drivers’ license.

ONE TO ONE AIDE/ CLASSROOM AIDE

Responsibilities: 

  • Substitutes needed for early childhood program serving children with disabilities in Westchester County.
  • Job duties include play and learning activities in a preschool classroom working under the direction of the Teacher.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children and knowledge of developmental disabilities preferred.  Requires HS Diploma, college is preferred but not required.

Pay/Time:

  • $15.00/HR

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor comprehensive program for full day children.
  • Administer psychological evaluations.
  • Plan and collaborate with staff for full day preschool classes.
  • Assist social worker in intake process, parents’ visits, family contacts and communication.
  • Provide parent education workshops.

Requirements:

  • Requires Permanent NYS Certification in School Psychology.
  • Knowledge of Autism/PPD and principal methods for teaching.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with children, staff and families.

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) SUCCESS COACH I

Description:

  • The DSP Success Coach I works closely with assigned DSP mentees, using positive encouragement, feedback, information sharing, observations, and role modeling to build the skills and behaviors needed to be an outstanding person-centered DSP.

Responsibilities:

  • The DSP mentor excels in the person-centered performance of residential DSPs responsibilities and is a resource helping their mentees develop important skills to enhance their work as direct support professionals.
  • The mentor DSP develops the DSP’s skills and behaviors to maximize the independence, choice, and personal dignity of the people supported. The DSP Mentor works to infuse The Arc Westchester residential culture with the NEXT for DSP model. The NEXT for DSP model promotes the health wellbeing, and safety as well as interests, rights, and choices of people supported.

Requirements:

  • Requires a High School Diploma/GED, Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Requires a valid NYS Driver’s License, and at least one-year experience working with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or related human services experience.
  • This position also requires a Professional Family Teaching Model Certification obtained within 12 months of employment.

Pay/Salary:

  • $15.80 to $17.00/HR
