Description
- The Coordinator of Person-Centered Supports assists the organization by promoting excellence in person-centered services and supports for people to achieve their personal goals and desired outcomes. This position provides the lead support in promoting advocacy initiatives for children and adults receiving services and their families consistent with The Arc Westchester’s mission, vision and values. This position also promotes the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) values in supervision of Personal Outcome Measures (POMs) interview process. Serves on The Arc Westchester’s Behavior Support Plan Committee, and also trains staff on how to support people with expressing their rights.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master’s Degree preferred. Understanding of person/family centered system and practice and knowledge of developmental disabilities service system. Ability to teach/facilitate staff training and planning meetings as required. Sound knowledge of developmental disability services system; minimum of 5 years’ experience in I/DD or related field.

Job Placement Specialist
Description:
- Act as a liaison and advocate for individuals with disabilities employed in the community. Develops a Habilitation Plan and isresponsible for implementing the valued outcomes of the plan. Maintain contact with employers, families and servicecoordinators regarding progress or issues at the work site.
- Services may include job skills, interpersonal skills, job advancement skills and job retention skills.
Requirements:
- Requires a NYS valid Driver’s License and a H.S. diploma/GED. AA degree in Human Services or related field or Bachelor’s degree is preferred. One-year experience with DD population, individuals with disabilities or related field is preferred.

- $19.77hr
HABILITATION INSTRUCTOR/ Sub-Driver
Description:
- Develop and implement community based/in house programming in accordance with the Individual’s needs, preferences and desires as per the individual’s Service & Habilitation Plan. Provide services in accordance with all relevant regulations. Has the responsibility of transporting people supported to and from program on an ongoing substitute basis.
Requirements:
- Requires H.S. Diploma/GED and a valid NYS Driver’s License.
- AA degree and experience working with DD population preferred.
Salary/Pay:
- $19.71/hr
COMMUNITY CHOICES INSTRUCTOR
Description:
- Develop and implement community-based programming/ integration in accordance with the Individual’s needs, preferences and desires as per their Individual Service and Habilitation Plan.
- Maintain health and safety standards.
- Position will specifically work within the “Choices” Without Walls program.
- Staff may be required to operate wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Requirements:
- Requires H.S Diploma, NYS Driver’s License, successful completion of OPWDD approved CPR/first aid certification.

A variety of positions are available for candidates with HS Diplomas/GED, Associates, and BA’s. Experience with I/DD population is welcomed! No experience? That’s ok, we train on the job!
Your Main Responsibilities will be: Provide director support and instruction in a responsible, respectful, and caring manner. Complete documentation according to all applicable regulations. Maintain open communication with individuals, families, residential providers, co-workers, and supervisors. Drive in a safe manner meeting all applicable laws and maintain vehicle in good working conditions.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITY LIAISON
Description:
- Utilizing a variety of creative methods, develop community opportunities and relationships in order to provide regular, meaningful and educational experiences of interest for individuals in Day Services.
- Opportunities may include but are not limited to volunteer sites, internships, classes, lessons, career exploration, tours, lectures, shows, exhibits. Work with teams and individuals to learn interests and disseminate and share information in a clear and organized manner. Follow up with all stakeholders and provide ongoing support including on site instruction to individuals. Supervise staff as assigned.
Requirements:
- Requires H.S Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Requires a valid NYS Driver’s License.

Responsibilities:
- Duties include assisting individuals with their leisure time, health care, safety, and self care needs in residential settings and in the community.

- HS Diploma/GED and a valid NYS driver’s license for minimum 3 years. (Note: 2-year NYS Driver’s license with no points will also be considered)
