The Arc Westchester Welcomes New Board President, Honors Advocate of the Year, at 73rd Annual Membership Meeting

Westchester County, N.Y. (July 18, 2022) – The Arc Westchester recently convened stakeholders for its 73rd Annual Membership Meeting. The virtual event featured special guest Erik Geizer, CEO of The Arc NY, welcomed a new Board President, honored the Advocate of the Year, and provided updates on the state of the organization.

Highlights from The Arc Westchester’s 73rd Annual Membership Meeting include:
• Pleasantville resident Jeff Wood was elected as President of the Board. Mr. Wood holds a corporate security role for the BMW automobile corporation in the Americas Region. Mr. Wood serves on several board committees and is an active committee member for the Children’s School annual fundraiser, Golfing for Kids. His daughter is an alumnus of The Arc Westchester’s Children’s School for Early Development.
• Noah Kuntz, a participant in The Arc Westchester’s Choices Program, was honored with The Richard P. Swierat Advocate of The Year Award. Noah proudly works for Acme Supermarkets and enjoys volunteering his time to cleanup parks in Westchester County. He is an advocate for people with disabilities and a champion for his peers who are seeking employment.
• Erik Geizer, CEO of The Arc NY, spoke to attendees noting that this Chapter is thriving despite the unprecedented challenges it faced during the pandemic. Mr. Geizer went on to commend the direct care workforce for rising to meet these challenges.
• Tibi Guzmán, Executive Director/CEO of The Arc Westchester, announced that the Chapter was recently recertified by The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL).

“We are thankful to the members who have stood by us throughout the pandemic, cheering us on and supporting our staff and individuals during these challenging times,” Tibi Guzmán, Executive Director/CEO of The Arc Westchester, said. “Our Chapter is strong thanks to a dedicated staff and Board, passionate members and advocates, and partners who believe in our work. We look forward to a bright future and are delighted to have Mr. Wood leading our Board during this time.”
