The Arc Westchester Held its 75th Annual Membership Meeting

A New President Elected to the Board of Directors

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. (June 11, 2024) – The Arc Westchester recently held its 75th Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, June 4th. The meeting formally welcomed Steven Masket, Esq. (New Rochelle) as new board president. His youngest son receives residential and day services from The Arc Westchester. Mr. Masket is an active volunteer at The Arc Westchester Foundation and served as Treasurer/Secretary from 2012 until 2022. He also serves in numerous roles with The Arc New York. Mr. Masket was Secretary & General Counsel for Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits for eight years and was at Maidenform Brands for the prior 27 years as Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary.
The virtual event featured special guest Laura Slatkin, parent, Co-Founder and board chair of NEXT for AUTISM and founder and executive chair of NEST New York.

Other highlights from The Arc Westchester’s 75th Annual Membership Meeting included:
• Three board members retired, and two new members were welcomed to the Board of Directors. The newest Board Members are John Castanaro (Yonkers) and Jon Kole (White Plains).
• Laura Slatkin was guest speaker and shared her experience with The Arc Westchester and the important role families play in supporting the work of the organization.
• One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of The Richard P. Swierat Advocate of The Year Award. Michael Soury was recognized for his exemplary leadership in advocating for people with developmental disabilities.
