Giving the gift of stock, bonds or other securities to The Arc Westchester Foundation has significant benefits for the contributor. If the stock has appreciated in value, the holder can avoid paying the capital gains tax by giving it as a gift.
Please follow the instructions below to transfer securities or cash into a J.P. Morgan account in the name of: Westchester Arc Foundation, Inc.
Important: Please inform The Arc Westchester Foundation office of the date and method of your stock transfer so that we can properly credit you for giving the gift.
The effective date of your stock donation is the date your broker or bank transfers the stock to The Arc Westchester Foundation’s account. When you hold the certificate and mail it to JP Morgan Chase with a related Stock Power, the postmark date on the mailing envelope will be the valuation date. In both cases, the value of your donation will be the average of the high and low quotations for the stock on that day on a recognized exchange.
