World Down Syndrome Day

During Disabilitity Awareness Month we were so happy to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day at the Westchester Children’s Museum in Rye. Groups decorated mismatched socks, the global symbol of World Down Syndrome Day, while enjoying music, movement, and time together in celebration of diversity, kindness, and community.
March 21 symbolizes the three copies of the 21st chromosome associated with Down syndrome. Thank you to the families who joined us and to the museum staff for making the day so special. Visit the National Down Syndrome Society to learn more.
