Golfing For Kids

On September 15, 2025, supporters and friends gathered at the prestigious Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford, NY for Golfing For Kids, The Arc Westchester’s annual fundraising event benefiting the Children’s School for Early Development. This incredible day brought together golfers, sponsors, donors, and community partners, all united in their commitment to ensuring that young children with developmental disabilities and their families receive essential educational and therapeutic services at no cost. Because of our golfers, sponsors, donors, and volunteers, we raised over $240,000 in essential funds for the Children’s School for Early Development, helping us provide early intervention and education that changes lives. Thanks to the generosity and dedication of everyone who made this event possible, we continue to close critical funding gaps and provide the tools, resources, and opportunities that help children from birth to five thrive and achieve lifelong developmental success.

How Golfing For Kids Supports The Arc Westchester’s Children’s School for Early Development

The Children’s School for Early Development, provides educational, social and support services for children from birth to five years of age and their families. The funds raised from this event help the Children’s School maintain its standard of excellence, at no cost to families. The School runs at a significant deficit every year, due to a continual lack of equitable funding from New York State. As a result, we rely on additional funding through grants and special events such as Golfing for Kids which allows for The Children’s School to remain open, active and effective in providing young children with the learning opportunities and supports they need in order to achieve lifelong educational and developmental success. Just a few examples include…

Technology and access to on-line learning materials and activities used to enhance instruction.

Class trips to integrate community learning with classroom instruction.

Furniture, therapeutic and art supplies, and toys for all classrooms.

Staff development workshops and conferences presented by leaders in the field of early childhood special education.

COMMUNITY PARTNER AWARD

The Music Conservatory of Westchester

The Music Conservatory of Westchester has been an extraordinary partner to The Arc Westchester. Through their music therapy programs, our preschoolers at the Children’s School for Early Development discover new ways to communicate, learn, and thrive. Their impact extends beyond the classroom, as many of the adults in our programs also experience the transformative benefits of music thanks to this partnership. These opportunities are not possible without private support, and we are deeply grateful for the generosity that sustains them. The Conservatory’s commitment is a powerful reminder that art is not a luxury, it is an essential part of human growth and expression. We are proud to honor the Music Conservatory of Westchester for bringing the joy and healing power of music to the people we support.

Lisa Sandagata, MA, MT-BC, Director of Outreach – Music Therapy Institute at the Music Conservatory of Westchester, was unable to attend Golfing for Kids, but please click here to view her acceptance speech.

The Arc Westchester Foundation hosted its annual golf outing on September 16, 2024 with more than 110 golfers teeing up and another 70 joining for dinner at Knollwood Country Club. This year’s event raised over $235,000 for the Children’s School for Early Development, one of the largest providers of community-based, specialized services for young children with developmental disabilities in Westchester County.

The beautiful weather made for a glorious day of golf. This year’s honoree was the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and Newsletter Committee of the Children’s School, recognized for their outstanding support and dedication to the students.

At the banquet, guests enjoyed a live and silent auction hosted by emcee and live auctioneer Bobby D. of Inspire Hearts Fundraising.
